The World Wide Web is a distributed system that provides access to related documents located on different computers connected to the Internet. The word ‘web’ and abbreviation WWW are also used to denote the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web is made up of hundreds of millions of web servers. Most of the resources of the World Wide Web are based on hypertext technology. Hypertext documents placed on the World Wide Web are called web pages. Several web pages, united by a common theme, design, and also connected by links and usually locatedonthesamewebserver,arecalledawebsite.Specialprograms,browsers,areunloadandviewwebpages.Awebserver refers to both the software that performs the functions of the web server, and directly the on which this software is running.
